Scientific Abstracts: January 6 – March 31, 2026
Abstracts submitted to ASA will be considered for Oral, ePoster or Paper Poster presentations. These presentations are delivered in English without translation. Abstracts chosen for presentation must be delivered by a presenting author fluent in English to facilitate comprehension of the information by the learner. Presentations are organized by topic into specific categories (e.g., Clinical Circulation, Experimental Neurosciences, etc.). Experts in the field facilitate or moderate all scientific abstract presentations.
Submitters can indicate that they would like their abstract to be considered for the Journal Symposium session. All submissions will also be considered for the Best Abstracts session (the abstracts presented at this session are selected by a panel of ANESTHESIOLOGY editors).
Case reports will not be considered--please submit case reports under the Medically Challenging Cases submission type.

Scientific and Educational Exhibits: January 6 – March 31, 2026
Medically Challenging Cases (MCCs) and Quality Improvement Projects (QIPs) are a great opportunity for medical students, residents, fellows, and junior faculty to participate in ANESTHESIOLOGY. MCCs were introduced at the ASA annual meeting in 2005 as a forum for anesthesiology residents and attendings to present clinically challenging experiences and receive input from attendees as to how they would address the same difficult situation. These cases are of immense educational value to those attending the meeting and provide the presenter, specifically junior faculty, residents, and fellows, an opportunity to attend the annual meeting, gain experience in preparing a case presentation along with a poster, and present and share their experience to fellow colleagues.
MCCs and QIPs will be considered for ePoster or Paper Poster presentation. MCCs and QIPs chosen for presentation must be delivered by a presenting author fluent in English to facilitate comprehension of the information by the learner. Presentations are organized by topic into specific categories (e.g., Ambulatory Anesthesia, Cardiac Anesthesia, etc.). All MCC and QIPs presentations will be moderated.
